Day 1
Itinerary Begins in Cusco
You've arrived - Welcome!
  • Upon arrival to the airport in Cusco (airport code CUZ) you will be greeted by your private guide and/or driver holding a sign with your name on it.
  • If you will already be in town today (either by way of another Trip Harvest itinerary which ends in Cusco, or on your own), we can of course meet you there as well to begin this itinerary.
Private Tour to Maras, Moray and Ollantaytambo, with Lunch
Three highlight ruin sites of the Sacred Valley with your private guide.(Boxed Lunch)
  • You will be met by your private guide and driver and depart Cusco for the Sacred Valley, visiting sites on the way.
  • You'll make your way first to the ancient Maras Salt Pans (about a 45 min. drive from Cusco) where you'll have your first site visit.
  • View and learn about the many salt plots and how they've been cared for in a traditional way over the years.
  • Later you'll visit the nearby iconic concentric circle ruins of Moray.
  • You can hike all the way down into the center of the ruins if you wish.
  • A boxed lunch is included during your excursion today (time-permitting a gourmet picnic lunch is also possible).
  • After Moray  you'll continue to the floor of the Sacred Valley and will visit the town and ruins of Ollantaytambo.
  • Walk the streets and alleys of Ollantaytambo with your guide, deepening your knowledge of the region and the people who live here.
  • In the mid-afternoon you'll visit the Ollantaytambo Ruins, considered by some as the most iconic ruin site in the Sacred Valley (one of the few where interrupted Incan construction can be easily viewed, offering insight into how the Incas did their work).
  • In the late afternoon you'll be taken to your hotel for the evening.
  • This is a full day excursion lasting around 6-7 hours, door to door.
  • Lunch is included.

F.A.Q.

Are your trips group trips or private trips?

Answer:

Any arrangements made through us are for

you and your traveling companions only.  We do include certain excursions and activities in various destinations that are run on a group basis (like boat rides to view glaciers, or biking with wine tasting, for example) and these are noted in the itinerary details, but your trip is unique and yours alone.

Do you book my flights or do I have to do that myself?

Answer:

We'll always send you a quote for any local fli

ghts needed for your trip (and international flights as well, upon request), but it's not a requirement that you book flights through us.

Once you've added a bundle to your trip request, you'll have the chance to see some current local flight options via our tool, but it's a good idea to wait until we email you your trip confirmation before booking local flights.

What guides do you work with?

Answer:

We work with exceptional, top local guides in e

very country and destination that we offer.  Our guides are locals who have intimate knowledge of the areas and activities they are guiding, and a large majority have extensive experience in the industry as well as studies in the tourism field.  All guides speak excellent English.  Guides are employees of our local partner companies (read more about them here), adding to the level of support behind your trip from start to finish.

What is the transportation like?

Answer:

Transportation to and from airports and hotels

is always private (a car, minivan or van just for you and your traveling companions, depending on the number).  Transportation during excursions or activities is generally done in private, except during excursions noted as "small group" or "shared".  You'll never find yourself on a large tour bus with us.

Do you have any certifications or accreditations?

Answer:

Yes, we are a Registered Seller of Travel in th

e state of California and are an IATA/IATAN accredited company.

Do you offer travel insurance?

Answer:

We don't sell travel insurance directly.

We work with a company called Allianz.  Follow the link below to visit their site for a quote, or to speak with a representative.

Do I need a passport and/or visa to travel?

Answer:

All visitors must have a valid passport to ente

r and proof of onward passage. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after your departure date.

Is your company insured?
