    Day 1
    Itinerary Begins in Quito
    You've arrived - Welcome!
    • Upon arrival to the airport in Quito (airport code UIO) you will be greeted by your private guide and/or driver holding a sign with your name on it.
    • If you will already be in town today (either by way of another Trip Harvest itinerary which ends in Quito or on your own), we can of course meet you there as well to begin this itinerary.
    Transfer to Hotel, with Guide
    Private - Driver and Guide / Driver-Guide
    • Private transfer (car or van, depending on your party's size) to your selected hotel.
    • Driver and English-speaking guide or Driver-Guide (guide drives the vehicle; this depends on the location and traveler quantity).
    • Your guide will provide you with additional information regarding your trip and will assist you with getting settled-in at your hotel on arrival.
    • Modern, safe, air-conditioned vehicle and complementary bottled water for each passenger.

    Day 2
    Colonial Quito Walking Tour
    Explore the city's main sights and historic architecture - on foot with your private guide.
    • You'll be met at your hotel by your private guide and will have a unique and tour of the city, walking the historic Old Town.
    • Walk through the streets and plazas of historic Old Town with its colonial buildings, cobblestone streets and cathedrals.
    • Visit the Gothic Basilica Church and its impressive architecture.
    • Visit the unique Manuela Saenz museum, the former home of a mistress of Simon Bolivar, the museum houses many artifacs from the lives of these two figures.  
    • Later return to your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure.
    • This is a half day tour lasting around 4 hours.
    Day 3
    Transfer to Airport
    Private - Driver Only
    • Transfer to the airport with a private vehicle and driver (Spanish-speaking, generally with a basic understanding of English).
    • Domestic travel generally requires arriving 2 hours prior to departure and 3 hours for international.  Your transfer will be scheduled accordingly.
    Fly Quito (UIO) to Galapagos San Cristobal (SCY) via Guayaquil
    Domestic Air Travel - 3h 30m approx. including stopover
    • Fly from Quito (UIO) to San Cristobal in the Galapagos (SCY).
    • NOTE: The flights to the Galapagos for cruise itineraries must meet certain arrival/departure time parameters and are generally booked through the cruise operator.  We take care of this for you. Please do not purchase Galapagos flights before consulting with us.
    Begin Cruise Itinerary (Thursday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    Your Cruise on Ocean Spray Begins Today at Santa Fe Island

    AM: Baltra Island

    • After arriving at Baltra airport you will be greeted by a representative of the vessel and will begin activities included with your cruise.
    • You'll board the Ocean Spray and will have lunch, followed by a briefing for your activities and adventure for the coming week.

    PM: Santa Fe- dry landing. Activities: Walking, Kayaking

    • Santa Fe (Barrington) is home to the small picturesque bay and anchorage on the island’s northeast coast.
    • The bay has two visitor trails, one leading to a scenic viewpoint atop a cliff, and the other spanning from a small beach to a tall prickly pear cactus forest. 
    Day 4
    Cruise Second Day (Friday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    See iconic Espanola Island in the Southern Galapagos today

    AM: Espanola, Punta Suarez- dry landing. Activities: Walking / Hiking

    • This area is great for spotting Blue-footed Boobies, albatrosses and Nazca Boobies.
    • A beautiful site on the ocean front, the large Waved Albatrosses use the cliff as a launching pad.
    • The famous attraction is the magnificent blowhole, spurting water high into the air. This site presents wonderful photograph opportunities.
       

    PM: Espanola, Gardner Bay- wet landing. Activities: Walking / Hiking, Snorkeling

    • Gardner Bay, on the eastern side of the island, is the breeding site of nearly all of the world´s 12,000 pairs of Waved Albatrosses.
    • It has an ample white sandy beach with a myriad of sea lions, perfect for relaxing. Its rocky shores make this site a great place for diving and snorkeling. 

    PM: Espanola, Osborn Islet - wet landing. Activities: Walking, Snorkeling

    • After landing, you can walk across a lovely white sand beach amongst a busy sea lion colony or dive into the water to swim with sea lion pups.
    • This small island is a marine visit where you can enjoy fantastic snorkeling and swimming.
    Day 5
    Cruise Third Day (Saturday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    Enjoy fantastic San Cristobal Island today

    AM: San Cristobal, Jacinto Gordillo Center – dry landing. Activities: Walking.

    • A visitor site in the southeast part of San Cristobal Island that can be reached in roughly one hour by road from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
    • On the trees and shrubs surrounding the site, you may see land birds like warbler, finches and mockingbirds, and on the trails, Giant Tortoises.

    PM: San Cristobal, Isla Lobos  – dry landing. Activities: Walking / Hiking, Snorkeling

    • Isla Lobos or Lobos Island is named after the sea lions that rest and play on its rocky shores. It is also home to blue-footed boobies, great frigate-birds, brown pelicans, lava gulls, common noddies, yellow warblers and small and medium ground finches.
    • There is good snorkeling in the clear waters of the channel and this is one of the best sites at which to swim with sea lions underwater.

    PM: San Cristobal, Leon Dormido – no landing. Activities: Panga Ride

    • This striking rock formation is located a couple hours off the western shore of San Cristobal.
    • Jutting out of the water, the rocks stand vertically at hundreds of feet above the ocean divided by a small channel.
    • Although there are no landing areas, kayaking and scuba diving allow visitors to spot a variety of marine life. 
    Day 6
    Cruise Fourth Day (Sunday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    See more of San Cristobal today with two outstanding visitor sites

    AM: San Cristobal, Punta Pitt - wet landing. Activities: Walking / Hiking, Snorkeling

    • Pitt Point, situated on the north-eastern tip of the island, hosts frigatebirds, storm petrels, and all three types of Booby Birds: the Nazca, Blue-footed and Red-footed Boobies.
    • A steep trail goes up a cliff and through a ravine leading visitors to an area with an abundance of birds.
    • This site is also great for snorkeling and scuba diving. 

    PM: San Cristobal, Cerro Burjo - wet landing. Activities: Walking, Snorkeling

    • Located on the northern coast, this eroded hill and its surroundings present one of the most picturesque beaches in the Galapagos with its white powdery sand and the abundance of animals.
    • Wildlife includes sea turtles, rays, and various types of Booby Birds.
    • The clear water provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy swimming and snorkeling. 
    Day 7
    Cruise Fifth Day (Monday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    The journey moves south today, with visits at Floreana Island

    AM: Floreana, Post Office Bay – wet landing. Activities: Hiking, Snorkeling

    • In the 18th century whalers passing through the islands placed a wooden barrel on Floreana Island for use as an unofficial mail box.
    • The tradition continues today as visitors leave addressed postcards in the barrel and sort through left mail to deliver at home. 

    PM: Floreana, Cormorant Point– wet landing. Activities: Walking / Hiking

    • This site hosts a large flamingo lagoon where other birds such as common stilts, White-cheeked Pintails can also be seen.
    • The beaches on this island are distinct: The “Green Beach” named so due to its green color, which comes from a high percentage of olivine crystals in the sand, and the “Four Sand Beach” composed of white coral.
       

    PM: Floreana, Devil's Crown – no landing. Activities: Snorkeling

    • One of the best snorkeling sites in the Galapagos, this volcanic crater has been eroded by the waves leaving the northern and southern sides poking out of the water.
    • The coral reef in the middle is perfect for attracting marine life. Snorkelers enjoy the variety of marine life and exciting currents that rush through the crown, creating an exhilarating experience.
    Day 8
    Cruise Sixth Day (Tuesday) - Ocean Spray - 5 night / 6 day Itinerary B (Central and Southern Islands)
    Your journey concludes today with a visit to Black Turtle Cove off Santa Cruz Island

    AM: Santa Cruz, Black Turtle Cove - no landing. Activities: Panga Ride

    • Black Turtle Cove is situated in the northern part of Santa Cruz.
    • This inlet is surrounded by mangroves and is only accessible by dinghy.
    • The shallow cove is a safe haven for young marine life.
    • Blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, sea turtles, and a variety of rays are often spotted here.
    • After your visit you'll be taken to the Baltra Airport for your flight back to the mainland.
    Fly Galapagos Baltra (GPS) back to the Mainland (GYE/UIO)
    Domestic Air Travel - 2h to GYE, 3h 30m to UIO
    • Today you'll fly back to mainland Ecuador (flights stop in Guayaquil and then continue on to Quito) where you can continue your trip or fly home.

    Are your trips group trips or private trips?

    Answer: 

    Any arrangements made through us are for 

    you and your traveling companions only.  We do include certain excursions and activities in various destinations that are run on a group basis (like boat rides to view glaciers, or biking with wine tasting, for example) and these are noted in the itinerary details, but your trip is unique and yours alone.

    Do you book my flights or do I have to do that myself?

    Answer: 

    We'll always send you a quote for any local fli

    ghts needed for your trip (and international flights as well, upon request), but it's not a requirement that you book flights through us.

    Once you've added a bundle to your trip request, you'll have the chance to see some current local flight options via our tool, but it's a good idea to wait until we email you your trip confirmation before booking local flights.

    very country and destination that we offer.  Our guides are locals who have intimate knowledge of the areas and activities they are guiding, and a large majority have extensive experience in the industry as well as studies in the tourism field.  All guides speak excellent English.  Guides are employees of our local partner companies (read more about them here), adding to the level of support behind your trip from start to finish.

    What is the transportation like?

    Answer: 

    Transportation to and from airports and hotels

    is always private (a car, minivan or van just for you and your traveling companions, depending on the number).  Transportation during excursions or activities is generally done in private, except during excursions noted as "small group" or "shared".  You'll never find yourself on a large tour bus with us.
     

    Do you have any certifications or accreditations?
