Right along the Urubamba River in Aguas Calientes, Sumaq is an upscale luxury hotel and one of the best options for stays while visiting iconic Machu Picchu. The shuttles up to the ruins are only steps away and depart regularly throughout the day. Sumaq offers superb gourmet cuisine, refined accommodations, and an ideal location from which to explore the most unique of all Incan sites.
Below is how we generally recommend setting up stays at this property, but longer or shorter durations are also possible.
You'll take the train from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes (just below Machu Picchu) today. On arrival you will be met by a representative of the Sumaq Hotel and escorted to your hotel. You will have time to relax or will make a privately-guided ruin visit, depending on your schedule.
You will spend your days at Machu Picchu exploring the citadel with your private guide. Aside from a traditional visit to the main area of the ruins, you will also have the opportunity to do one of the famous hikes, Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (either are a couple hours round trip).
You'll depart today for your next destination or to head home. Transportation will be scheduled accordingly.
