Lima (Miraflores)
Located in a convenient and central part of Lima's upscale Miraflores neighborhood, the Hilton is one of our favorite high-end hotels in the city. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed and prices are extremely reasonable for a 5-star city hotel. There are fancier options available for those desiring something more luxurious, but Hilton checks all the boxes for a comfortable, top-level stay in Peru's capital city.
El Calafate (Town)
Located just outside of downtown El Calafate, right along the lakefront, Xelena is a fantastic option for a full-service, high end Patagonia hotel to serve as a base for exploration in the area. The hotel offers a full range of amenities including a lovely indoor pool and restaurant, all with sweeping views of Lago Argentino. Many excellent restaurants in town are reachable via a short taxi ride, and walking along the lakeside boardwalk is a nice option for free afternoons and evenings.
Santiago (downtown)
Cumbres Lastarria offers a stylish, modern experience in a historic part of the city. Located in Santiago's Bohemian Lastarria neighborhood, Cumbres is a sanctuary in the middle of a bustling area on the edge of downtown. The area is full of chic bistros, shops and bars and is excellent for exploring on foot.
The best (and not so great) ways to experience one of the most iconic visitor sites in the world.
